![]() I can just about get away with it now, after being on holiday in Italy and getting some serious colour whilst I was there. I think the photos are really misleading too, as they show people with darker skin than me wearing far lighter shades than mine.ģ.70 can also only loosely be described as a 'match' - as people have pointed out from the photos online: these shades do run very orange-toned. There are a couple of shades in-between the ones I have, but some of them are cool-toned so wouldn't be right for me. I have three shades here as it just felt a bit wasteful to take all of the colours I knew I'd have no use for, and there are enough swatches and videos on the internet showing what they all look like. However when the shades were swatched it was clear that the gradient was all wrong! There were variations of very similar shades on the lighter end of the spectrum with a handful of deeper options tacked onto the end, like a bit of an afterthought.Īs an NC40 girl, I'm kind of on the cusp of where the shade selection deteriorated! My closest match is the shade 3.70 which is way over on the darker end of the spectrum, which seems off given that I'm pretty 'slap bang in the middle' when it comes to the range of human skin tones. So, what do I think of it all? Keep reading to find out.Įveryone's issue with this foundation when it launched was, of course, the shade range! It's a real shame because I don't think it was intentional - the marketing images show people of all ages, ethnicities and genders, plus it comes in an impressive 32 shades. I don’t think you need to spend $40 on a foundation but if you are interested in trying this foundation, you won’t be disappointed. When the new BeautyBlender Bounce Foundation* | £32 | landed in the US, it's fair to say it caused a bit of social media storm.which we'll get into! Opinions were flying left, right and centre but Cult Beauty kindly sent me this over to try for myself. Overall, I do really like this foundation. I personally think that 10 hours is plenty of wear time for my normal days. It claims to have a 24 hour wear time but I think it lasts more like 10-14 hours just depending on the day. You barely need a little over a pump to cover your whole face. I don’t like that the foundation can get stuck where the pump “tube” sticks out.Īs for the foundation itself, I REALLY like it! Its full coverage, easy to blend. When you pump the foundation out, you are supposed to hold it at a 45 degree angle so the foundation comes out on the side of the bottle.Īlthough I really like the direction that Beauty Blender went in, this can be pretty messy. ![]() I love the glass side but the real creative part is the side that you can dip your Beauty Blender sponge on. The packaging of this foundation is SO creative! It feels really high-end. I think a foundation was the perfect makeup item to release. This is the first makeup item that Beauty Blender has released so it’s really exciting. I hope customers tell Beauty Blender if there shade is missing so they can go back and create that shade and improve their range.īut putting all of that aside, this foundation retails for $40 and has 32 shades available. I think it is unrealistic to launch with 40 perfect shades all the time. I definitely see the multiple light shades that seem exactly the same and there is room for improvement with the deep shades but I do think the Beauty Blender tried. When I was looking on Sephora through all of the shades and it actually seems like they had a bit of diversity. The majority of shades were light / medium toned which was shocking because of all of the backlash that Tarte faced with their Shape Tape Foundation shade range. This image caused a ton of controversy because of the lack of deep skin toned shades. Shortly before this foundation was released, Trendmood1’s Instagram released and image of all of the foundation bottles laid out which represented the full range of shades. If you aren’t up to date on the TEA then let me quickly summarize. There has been a LOT of controversy around this foundation and the shade range. I hope you are all having a wonderful day! Today I wanted to talk about the new Beauty Blender Bounce foundation.
